Big Al is kinda what i liken to a french chef,creative ,moody without caffeine and very passionate about what he does. he is at the hub of the nervous system . the heart of the operation, the fizz in the cola and the mint in the gum. i know, i will stop the cliches, could i work with a more dynamically driven human being who spends the majority of the time giving the customer what they want-no what our customer needs-stylish items at a real price? prob not if the truth be told.x
Introducing lisa is no easy task, She has many attributes in our workplace and im not sure where to begin, well actually i am but it may sound unintendedly condescending. Lisa makes the meanest cup of coffee you have ever tasted,its the one we look forward to in the morning, it kicks starts my day let me tell you. Anyhoo,not taking that away from her the lovely lisa is great at queries, problem solving and the weakest link and deal or no deal. Her hobbies include flower arranging and even more impressively has recently restored their home with her husband Ray who guess what?He works here too!Moving on nicely……
Callum is our chief wrapper, he is the man dedicated to overseeing the meticulous wrapping function of all our parcels, this isthe man who has posted his own possesions to see how well they stack up against the journey it takes to get to our stylish customer. God knows he would post himself if he could. he doesnt want the glitz and glamour of sales oh no he is like a doozer from fraggle rock beavering away in the background completing the last essential bit of jigsaw before our beloved item leaves us forever for pastures new. He has over the years seen many many changes in the modern world of internet buying and with great power comes great responsibilty to wrap like he has never wrapped before.he regularly receives his own parcels from various internet shops and more often than not if it isn't up to Callums standard he will do a knowing look of disgust at his item and whisper under his breath ‘could do better’. High five Callum high five.
Meet Ray, Ray is our chief delivery technician and all round magician. "Raymondo the legend" is the man when you need that built in fridge freezer expertly installed or the american style fridge freezer to fit in a hole that no one would think humanly possible........well Ray makes it fit! He also does that magic trick where he can actually detatch his thumb from his hand amazing. Ray loves installing washing machines as much as he loves biscuits, which is a lot, He's the man, hes the guy because there is only one legend that is Raymondo. FYI Raymondo and Callum always abide by the strict truckers code of conduct and will always flash you in or stop to help if you get stuck.
This man is the man upstairs ‘the boss@newbiggin’. But on his days off he is a train spotter or if the weathers iffy reads up on ww2 aircraft. Bryan has a Sat nav built in his brain which we dub "Bry nav" Bry nav is an awesome bit of kit, Give him a town he will tell you how to get there, give him a landmark he will guide you home. call him from anywhere in the UK and his expert knowledge of the UK road and rail networks will be flowing through your ears in no time, Also if you stay on the line Bryan will update of various points of interest, nothing boring like normal sat nav's like where the toilets are but Bry nav will give you the low down on the towns and villages telling you where all the World war II RAF bases were which includes ALL the secret ones to, He can also give a good food guide star rating on most pubs which you pass along the way, granted some reviews stem from "Me and your mother stopped there in 1982 and the food was exceptional" but always a handy insight none the less. If we ever had enough money we would design our very own Bry nav with all the interesting features of the UK and its lorry depots. Bryan is the oracle of our Matrix, The bridge over our river kwai he silently keeps the whole show ticking.
